Help!! A bike, a computer, a store. I am an SF caricature!

Posted on May 12th, 2007 by ebuddha : Non-Dual tech trainer ebuddha
So I've recently gotten this cool little bike.  Got the bike, the helmet, etc.  (and it has been GREAT for San Francisco, I must say!)

I also, a few months ago, got the apple macbook pro.

So, I find myself the other, day, in front of the SF Apple store, folding up my bike, helmet attached to my backpack, with my apple computer, going in and getting the Mighty Mouse, for the apple computer.

I see a reflection of myself, in the mirror.

a. Just got out of my tech job, South of Market.
b. Bike helmet on, with "slacker" clothes.  The long shorts and the hoodie.
c. My folding bike, in one hand.
d. My computer in front of me.
d. Starbucks chai in the other hand.

And I realize, I have now officially become a representative of that San Francisco caricature.

bike riding, computer notebook toting, starbucks, meditation guy.

Hmm...someone help me out here (seriously) - have I gone completely to the dark side, or am I living in the light???

I'm not TRYING to live in pretense, that's the thing.  The lifestyle is just insidious!

I need a job, right?  I'm fairly bright, might as well work in a technical field (but I work mostly with people, thankfully.)

I need a computer - and apples are good computers, especially since they can now run windows, right?

I need to keep in shape - so riding a bike to and back from work, is actually quicker, and I get exercise.

It's cold in the city, and a lot of wind, so when I ride, I need to have something thick and loose while exercising, for both the exercise, and to combat the temperature.

the hoodie and long shorts work for that, right?  It's just logical!

Getting a quick chai - I just like the taste, right?

I guess it's true.  You really do adapt to where you live!

Am I doomed???

:)
